The FIFA World Cup is scheduled to kick-off Sunday with host Country Qatar opening play with a match-up against Ecuador in Group A match. All the excitement and celebrations has started as Qatar is the first Middle Eastern country to host the FIFA World Cup tournament. The games officially kick off November 20 and commence with the award ceremony on December 18, 2022.
The World Cup usually is held in the summer months’; however, due to Qatar’s intense summers’, it was decided by the committee to reduce the timeframe to 29 days. The opening match will be held at Al Bayt Stadium, Al Khor with opening ceremonies and performances to match.
As part of the opening ceremony, millions of people will attend FIFA’s Fan Festival which will be held on November 19th as a welcoming of the games. In addition, for the first time, there’s a FIFA World Cup official soundtrack with a host of international stars adding songs of unity. The soundtrack first song is “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)”, by Trinidad Cardona, AISHA and Davido which was released earlier this year. The song “Arhbo” performed by Ozuna and Gims was released in August as the second release from the soundtrack, followed by “Light The Sky” by Balqees, Nora Faehi, Manal and Rahma Riad. The fourth track to be released from the soundtrack is “Tukoh Taka”, by Maluma, Myriam Fares and American hip-hop artist, named the “Queen of Rap,” Nicki Minaj. “Tukoh Taka”, released on November 17, 2022 is the official song of the FIFA Fan Festival.
The trilingual song features Colombian singer Maluma, Lebanese singer Myriam Fares and American Trinidad and Tobago artist Nicki Minaj representing English, Arabic and the Spanish language. Since “Tukoh Taka’s” release on the 17th, the song has reached the No. 3 spot on iTunes charts.
