How do you force a Legend and avid Golden State Warriors fan to leave a crucial playoff game? In what was apparently a big misunderstanding, inspired the BAY rapper/ legend/ entrepreneur to release a new single, ‘Front Row 40’. E-40 has been a permanent staple in the front row of Golden State Warriors home games for the past seven years.
In Golden State’s first round playoff series between the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, E-40 was ejected in what seemed to be a shouting match. E-40 would later tell the press after the incident that he felt the situation was a case of racial bias.
The playoff series features an upstart young Sacramento Kings vs. the reigning world champ Golden State Warriors. Trust me, the tensions and stakes are high. The Golden State Warriors are in a dog fight! The Sacramento Kings are confident and it shows. Sacramento currently holds a 2-1 lead on the series that’s expected to go 7 games.
The Sacramento Kings issued a statement after the incident involving Mr. Stevens (E-40), “After a series of thoughtful and transparent conversations, both parties agree that there was a miscommunication regarding the circumstances that occurred during the Kings vs. Warriors game on Saturday night, Contrary to speculation, Mr. Earl ‘E-40’ Stevens did not stand excessively from his ticketed courtside; the outcome resulted from an unfortunate misunderstanding between both parties,
The Sacramento Kings went on to say, “Mr. Stevens has previously attended games at Golden 1 Center without incident, and we look forward to welcoming him back to the arena in the future”.
Although the incident is in the rear view mirror, E-40 drops a jewel to remind naysayers that he is the real deal, ‘Front Row 40’. Directed by Jae Synth, the video displays 40’s bravado as the man that is accustomed to the Front Row of NBA games.
