Directed by George Tillman Jr. for Sony Pictures, the biopic follows the challenging life of former heavyweight champion George Foreman. Now, age 73, George Foreman is quite a entrepreneur and spokesman for top brands in the realm of cooking, boxing and publishing. The biopic follows George Foreman’s boxing career, his faith, retirement, and his calling in the ministry.
The film documents George Foreman struggle to deal with the worlds perception of him. A common struggle that we all deal with in our journey. Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World stars Jasmine Mathews, Sullivan Jones, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., John Magaro and Sonja Sohn. Directed by George Tillman Jr, the film follows a story by Frank Baldwin, Dan Gordan and Tillman Jr.
George Foreman was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame, and holds an Olympic Gold Medal from the 1968 Mexico City Games. In addition, George Foreman was the Heavyweight Champion of the World in the WBU, IBF, WFA, WBO, and the NABF.
George Foreman is played by Khris Davis and his trainer, Doc Broadus is portrayed by Forest Whitaker. The iconic Muhammad Ali is played by Sullivan Jones. The film chronicles George Foreman’s historic return to the ring at the age of 45 due to financial hardship. The legendary fight was against WBA Champion Michael Moorer in which he won in the 10th round. The victory made George Foreman the oldest heavyweight champion in the world.
