All roads lead to Vegas Saturday night for what has been called the biggest fight to take place in a while. The epic showdown featured Gervonta “Tank” Davis vs. Ryan “King Ry” Garcia. The Las Vegas’ T-Mobile arena was the venue as both of the undefeated superstars squared off to a sold-out, star studded event.
The Showtime pay-per-view broadcast was billed as the “It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This” bout to settle the catchweight champion . Gervonta held the WBA lightweight belt, and Ryan Garcia, the former WBC interim lightweight champion. Both fighters are box-office young stars that carry their weight in and out of the ring.
After an exciting high tension weigh-in, the frenzy behind the fight built to a climax that would prove to be too much for Ryan Garcia as Gervonta “Tank” Davis scored a 7th round knockout with a furious body shot. Gervonta’s speed and power proved to be the antedote to Garcia’s punching power and technique.
