Hitmaking Singer/Songwriter Michael B. Sutton Pens new Sensual Single, ‘Sexual’ Just in Time for Winter

As the holiday season approaches, couples world-wide will nestle in and celebrate not only family, but the sheer accomplishment of togetherness. Acclaimed singer/songwriter Michael B. Sutton knows those sentiments all too well as he has been writing heartfelt hits for decades. On November, 5th, 2022 Mr. Sutton officially released the long awaited single ‘Sexual’ as the prelude single for his upcoming second yet to be titled album. The single ‘Sexual,’ is an up-tempo love ballad that strikes a chord within, sparking feelings deep inside the realm of companionship and romanticism. Just in time~, as the fall nights bring on snippets of winter’s chill, ‘Sexual,’ will serve as the perfect introduction to wonderful conversation over a glass of merlot by the fireplace.

‘Sexual,’ was written years ago as a single for Michael B. Sutton’s second CD; however, after the project was put on hold, had never been revisited until recently. Co-written by singer/actress/ playwright Wendy Young, ‘Sexual’ never left the mind of Mr. Sutton as he pondered on singles to release in lieu of his second CD, which will drop sometime in 2023. When asked about the motivation behind ‘Sexual,’ Michael confesses, “Having a young wife”! I have always loved J.B. ‘s groove; I wanted to pen a song that was sexy, but not degrading. I wanted to project a natural… magical….. Electrical song.”

Lyrically, ‘Sexual rings in the sounds of a more up-tempo answer to Marvin Gaye’s classic, “Sexual Healing,” but plays like a latter-day Malaco Records version of Johnnie Taylor. The song has an infectiously deep vibe that’s sure to bring a whole lotta passion and fun. Produced by Michael B. Sutton for ℗ THE SOUND OF L.A., ‘Sexual’ is the cure-all for couples in search of soulful grown folks music.

More than a singer, Sutton is a hit-making songwriter/producer who has written songs for Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and many more. He put all of his precious skills and some new ones to work at the service of “Sexual,” including handling the engineering mix himself. Michael is joined on the song by his lovely wife, Anissa who sings background vocals, Josh Sklair on guitar (artistic director of Etta James and guitarist), James Manning on bass, Timbale Cornwell on percussion and Hiroshi Upshur on keys who also arranged the humorously cheesy ‘vintage’ synthesized horns and strings. Sutton also plays keyboards on the track which was mastered by James Forbes.
