Hip hop Legend Ice-T, founding NWA member Arabian Prince and Tommy the Animator is joining forces to produce a crime story which combines comics, animation, music and NFT’s. The music oriented novel publisher Z2 and Monster Forge Animation announced the project, “Death for Hire” to rave reviews. The animated graphic novel Death for Hire: The Origins of Tekh City, with original score by Dr. Dre, script written by Gary Phillips, and illustrations by Montos, the project is guaranteed to be a hit with enthusiast.
Z2’s Josh Bernstein and Rantz Hoseley, along with Shannon Eric Denton of Monster Forge Productions are the executive producers of Death for Hire.
Of course Ice-T supplies plenty of star power with the assistance of his friends Snoop Dogg, Tracy Morgan, Busta Rhymes, Mike Epps, Treach, Peter Scanavino, Roxanne Shante, Ben Baller, Styles P, Tone Trump, Emilio Rivera, Shannon Denton, Arabian Prince his wife Coco all make appearances.
The story line, “Within these pages, crooked Mayor Chuck Davis (Ice-T), his deadly female assassin Rhonda Knuckles (Coco), and right-hand-man Maniac Max (Treach) navigate the savage law of the street. With his hands occupied in everything from money laundering to hired hits, Davis tries to stay one step ahead of the competition in the Round Table Gang—Benny Tang (Ben Baller), Azul Michoacan (Emilio Rivera), and Vinny “Pipes” Roselli—who have controlled the black market undercurrent of Tehk City for years. But information comes at a price, especially when purchased by Pretty Black (Snoop Dogg), whose black market network feeds him intelligence from the furthest reaches of Tehk City. Davis and his crew will soon learn that grabbing power from the top dog can take you sky high or drag you to the grave.”
The graphic novel and the subsequent animated series are scheduled to be released in summer 2023.
