The slap seen across the world has once again reared its ugly head! This time, it is in pure comedy, and I can’t stop laughing! What if Mike Tyson was on Security Detail that night, nearly a year ago? Well, wait no longer, Kenan Thompson portrayed Mike Tyson on Saturday Night Live’s cold open of the Oscar. And, it’s too hilarious!
Kenan Thompson, faced tattooed and all, portrays the feared Mike Tyson on a spoon of an Access Hollywood red carpet show on Saturday Night Live, and the internet is going nuts. Thompson (Mike Tyson) is interviewed by Access Hollywood hosts Heidi Gardner, Andrew Dismukes (Mario Lopez), and had some pretty interesting answers to their questions for Tyson. “What measures are you taking as a precaution?” Tyson responded that he’d handle security “Judicially and expeditiously”.
Thompson (Mike Tyson) graciously thanked “Mario Luigi” for the question and went on to respond, “This year all the nominees have been given tasers, and the seat fillers have been given guns.” “In addition, host Jimmy Kimmel has been given a flamethrower”, stated Thompson. To round it off, Thompson stated that the Oscars were taking precautions of a possible second attack by Will Smith, and the threat was to be taken “very seriously”. “Luckily we were able to slip one of those Apple AirTags into Will Smith’s pocket, so we will know exactly where he’ll be at all times, unless he changes his pants. In that case he can be anywhere, so stay frosty everybody”, stated Thompson.
Saturday Night Live is the undisputed champion of adding satire and comedy to some of the most unpredictable funny moments in history. In addition to the “Oscar Slap”, the cold open also poked fun at Jamie Lee Curtis, Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and George Santos. The entire cold open is classic, and always ~ Thank You SNL, it’s much needed.
