What! Yo, this a declaration of Exclamation! With 14 Albums in, Yonkers veteran, by way of Queens, Styles P has just shook the streets with his 15th jewel, “Penultimate: A Calm Wolf Is Still A Wolf.” And if I could be frank, this sh@t right here, this sh@t right here is off the top, the hardest project to drop in some time. Just press play, from the intro, to the last track, ‘Cried on Sunday’, Styles P is fully re-loaded on this one with 13-bangaz.
The title of the album is quite fitting, Styles P has never been the ra-ra type of rapper, instead he is that cat in the corner that ya gotta watch! ‘Penultimate: A Calm Wolf Is Still A Wolf’, and you can take that to the bank. With production from the likes of Black Saun, Vinny Idol, and Noah Styles. With Styles P, you get what you came for; a complete body of work that’s sure to resonate and paint the walls of hip-hop greatness. The entire album follows the blueprint, Styles P signature bars, delivered on a bed of that funk that can only be created in New York. As always, Styles P is about substance! Every track has a message, as felt in my personal favorite, ‘Porsche Lights’. The Vinny Idol track is a classic tale of living the wrong light, the life comes with a price. Are you willing to pay it? Peel off, let em’ see ya Porsche Lights, better get ya some insight!! Styles is a beast, or shall I say a Wolf!
It is me vs me G vs G Because if i die you ain't gonna reimburse me If I lose it all, you ain't gonna reimburse me I’m in God’s house, but I ain’t never have a church key You in the mud, if you got the drip where the dirt be It ain't hydrated ~ Porsche Lights
Recently, the Lox member and entrepreneur Styles P stated that his solo album run is coming to an end. I can honestly say, Styles has done it all and has left it all on the court! To last in an industry that spits M.C’s out fast and leaves them to dry, to have dropped over 25+ projects and collaborations is a testament of persistence and durability. In addition to the music, Styles P is also an published author with his 2010 novel, Invincible through Random House Publishing Group. Whatever life has in store for Styles P is sure to be epic, but for now, he has blessed us with a gift, ‘Penultimate: A Calm Wolf Is Still A Wolf’
