Lil Uzi Vert breaks ice as first Hip-hop artist to go No. 1 in 2023 with release “Pink Tape” Album

Finally, the proverbial cherry has been popped! Leave it up to rapper Lil Uzi Vert, he goes down in the record books as the first hip-hop artist to hold the No. 1 spot on charts in 2023.  It had been almost 30-years since it took over 6 months for a hip-hop artist to reach such feats.

Lil Uzi Vert to the rescue:  Lil Uzi Vert released his third studio album “Pink Tape” June 30th on Generation Now/ Atlantic, after taking a three year hiatus.  Topping the Billboard 200 Charts in its first week of release with over 170k units, Lil Uzi Vert easily, single handedly rescued hip-hop from one of the most embarrassing milestones, ever.

Via press release, Lil Uzi Vert camp announced last week, the “Uzi’s Pink Tape Tour”, which at current, has 17 dates kicking off on October 21st in Minneapolis, Minnesota and ending on November 22nd in his native land of Philly. Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape took the place of Morgan Wallen’s clutch on top.

The Pink Tape features special guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, Snow Strippers, Travis Scott, Babymetal, Don Tolliver, and Bring Me the Horizon. Bring Me the Horizon, along with Brandon Finessin, BNYX, Arca, Don Cannon Oogie Mane, Buza Ronin, Cubeatz, WondaGurl, Bobby Raps, Serj Tankian, Ken Carson, Daron Malakian, Maaly Raw, Kobametal, Charlie Handsome, Wheezy, and the legendary Rick Rubin leant their expertise on the production. The tracklist includes 26-bangers which should keep Lil Uzi Vert on top of the charts to finish out 2023.
