With OPEC’s announcement late last week in plans to cut its oil production by an estimated 2 million barrels a day, Americans will fill the squeeze. The official start of the Holiday season is right around the corner, and a rise in fuel could send the already crippled economy into a free fall. Opec’s decision has already seen the national average for a gallon of gasoline to rise by as much as 35 cents in many parts of the country.
Who is to blame? According to economists, the recent fear of hurricanes could raise interruptions to the refineries, constricting supply lines. Another cause of rising fuel prices is the war in Ukraine, and the uncertainty in energy. In the major metropolitan areas of California, fuel prices have risen $1.01 to $1.50 more a gallon, based in part due to refinery shutdowns.
The national price at the pump has risen in the past week to $3.84 cents a gallon, up almost five cents from this time last week. With the November 8 midterms just around the corner, many speculate that President Biden will make a policy response to ensure the uncertain public. Perhaps we can see an emergency release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserves in a move to ease anxiety.
One thing is clear, with the volatility of the unpredictable, switching to cleaner energy and EV vehicles look like a solid solution for the issue of rising fuel prices, that’s sure to reappear over, and over. We recently caught up with environmentalist and living green advocate Seth Leitman `The Green Living Guy®”. For the past ten years, Seth Leitman has been on a crusade, warning of the many environmental issues we face today. As an author, blogger, podcast, television network owner, EV expert and President of the Greater Hudson Valley EV Association, Mr. Leitman is making a change by pushing big businesses towards clean energy.
Through initiatives and assistance from leaders, Seth Leitman foreseen the recent fuel crisis and warned of the dangers of ignoring the problem. As the world heads down the path of EV vehicles to save on the emissions released in the ozone, Leitman has personally argued for electric transport over gas and diesel powered vehicles for over two decades. “By reducing energy consumption and waste production, we can take an active part in saving the planet; It’s a social responsibility of not only the citizens, but business leaders to join in the movement for a greener planet”, states Seth Leitman.
By investing in electric vehicles, solar, water and wind energy, we can provide an eco-friendly and sustainable future. Maybe, it’s time we all take a listen!
