It’s been 26 years since Porno for Pyros last released a full-length album, ‘Good God’s Urge’. Well, ladies and gentlemen, the wait is over with the release of “Agua”, an up-tempo tune which pays tribute to the many surfing trip excursions in the 1990’s. With 16 dates lined-up starting February 13th, in Santa Ana, California, Porno for Pyros fans nationwide can see the band with its original members perform on their farewell tour.
The alternative rock band Porno for Pyros originally derived from the popular late 80’s group Jane’s Addiction. Lead vocalist Perry Farrell, along with drummer Stephen Perkins teamed up with Peter DiStefano, Mike Watt, and founding guitarist Martyn LeNoble to release two classic albums, ‘Porno for Pyros’ in 1993 and ‘Good God’s Urge’ in 1996. Although over the years, the group has suffered its share of triumphs and setbacks,; however, all members except Martyn LeNoble will rock-out on the farewell tour.
A band with a cause, Porno for Pyros passionate pursuit to protect and educate the masses about aquatic toxicology due to human neglect has led to a partnership with the Surfrider Foundation in efforts to protect the ocean and coastlines.
The Porno for Pyros farewell tour will hopefully usher in the release of one last full length album in 2024.
