The King of fried chicken now belongs to a Hall of Fame NBA basketball entrepreneur, Shaquille O’Neal with his signature restaurants – Big Chicken.
With plans to open 50 Big Chicken locations across the nation, CEO Josh Halpern announced, Big Chicken had secured a partnership with franchisees Fazil Malik, Frank Malik, and Noordin Jhaver, the group responsible for Northwest Petroleum and Drew Real Estate Holdings, respectively. Founded in 2018, Big Chicken ownership group includes JRS Hospitality; Authentic Brands Group, a multi-national, multi-billion-dollar brand development, marketing and entertainment company; and Hall of Fame basketball star Shaquille O’Neal. The partnership group will bring experience in the realm of targeted expansion which will aid in Big Chicken’s plan to break ground in select major cities.
To date, Big Chicken is currently open in 12-States which include Arizona, California, Florida, Illinios, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Tenenessee, Washington, and numerous locations in Texas. In addition to a nationwide shipping service provided by Goldbelly, Big Chicken also has locations on Carnival Cruise Line’s. Talking about expansion, wow!
Big Chicken serves suculent fried chicken sandwiches with unique toppings such as the signature Big Aristotle (Memphis-style bbq sauce, fried onions, and Muenster), Shaq Attack, and the Big & Sloppy. In addition, Big Chicken also serves fried chicken tenders, sliders, and an array of sides such as jalapeno slaw, sweet potato fries, and Cheez-it-crusted mac & cheese.
