America’s favorite pop icon, Pink is back with her 9th studio album, ‘Trustfall’. Always vocal, opinionated and well respected, Pink is not only a great singer / songwriter, but she has become a voice for millions. The LP, ‘Trustfall’ is a constellation of emotions that addresses insecurities within. But who can you trust? Pink cleverly navigates the road to freedom, while confronting her own strength of faith.
The first single, Never Gonna Not Dance Again, was released in October 2022. Pink later revealed the single was written as she and her son struggled with Covid-19 in the pandemic. Much like many people world-wide, Pink felt uncertainty and anxiety of a world that appeared to be coming to an end. And understandably so; the pandemic claimed millions of lives while casting doubt over our very existence.
The mother of two, son Jameson and daughter Willow, Pink seems comfortable in her skin and relishes in the fact that she knows she can rely on them. ‘Trustfall’ is by far Pink’s most comprehensive body of work. When asked, Pink states, “Trustfall is my best album, yet”. Although some critics would beg her different, I would agree with Pink’s assessment of the LP. From dance rich tracks, to emotional tear jerkers, Pink takes listeners from unbelievable highs, to sorrowful lows, and brings you out to a conclusion of knows? Yes, “Knows”! It’s one thing to live life; however, it’s another to identify and adjust to the rollercoaster that embodies it.
‘Trustfall’, features guest appearances by First Aid Kit, Chris Stapleton, and The Lumineers. The album encompasses the celebration of marriage, 17-years and counting with Cary Hart, her children and the loss of her father, Jim Moore in August 2021. On Valentines Day, Pink released a promotional single, “When I Get There”, written by David Hodges and Amy Wadge as a tribute to her late father.
Overall, the album ‘Trustfall’, is a liberation of freedom. Freedom to express emotions without being apologetic. ‘Trustfall’ is life! The good, the bad, and the ugly, we all face, but it’s having the courage to persevere in the face of adversity. Produced by Shellback, Fred Again, David Hodges, Max Martin, and Johnny McDaid, the 13-track LP is definitely fitting for the outspoken star. In a time where mental health is essential, it is refreshing to see a star who’s not afraid to open her life to give life to others. Pink is a God send, and ‘Trustfall’ is one of those albums that will make an impact on the masses.
