These days, CNN show anchor and legendary icon Don Lemon will have to go to bed a tad bit earlier. Starting on November 1, 2022 Don Lemon will be part of the new morning show, “CNN This Morning”, with co-hosts Kaitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow. The new morning show will replace the current “New Day” program, weekdays from 6 to 9 a.m. est.
The move comes as CNN’s refocus on waking the World up to powerful, insightful news worthy stories on bringing the World home. CNN’s new chief executive Chris Licht, is the first of many programming moves that will transcend the CNN morning show line-up to heights that will hopefully eclipse MSNBC’s top rated show “Morning Joe” and “CBS This Morning”, which were signature imprints of Chris Licht.
When asked about the context of the new morning shows, Chris Licht replied, “CNN This Morning”, “will offer a smart, bold and refreshing way to start the day”. “The next chapter of CNN is beginning to shape”. Don Lemon, who has gracefully hosted the “Don Lemon Tonight” show for the past 8+ years described his run as an “incredible ride”, is overjoyed by the opportunity to co-host the new venture. The new morning show debut will feature all three host family homes as described in the promos; Harlow in Minnesota, Collins in Alabama and Don Lemon in his native Louisiana.
