The mile-high city has a lot to be proud of these days! For starters, Denver was one of the first cities in America to legalize and sell cannabis. Second, Denver has quickly become a trendsetter of modern culture. Third, Denver is now officially the home to the first all-woman metal festival, “Femme Fest”. As the name would suggest, the “Femme Fest” festival is an all-woman metalcore festival organized and founded by ‘Blood of Lilith’, an all-female metalcore band whose captivating sound is catching wildfire across the U.S.
Blood of Lilith, the all-female band from Denver, Co. consists of vocalist Lisa Ogden, drummer Amber Chance, and bassist Tiffany Rubbio. Forming in 2020, the three friends has been on a tear, ripping up stages in Denver and surrounding areas performing shows, festivals, and concerts. After releasing a slew of singles in 2021-22, promoting primarily on social media, ‘Blood of Lilith’ dropped their debut album “ORIGINS” (an 11-track masterpiece) in February to rave reviews.
With a new bassist joining the band (Maggie Flex) in the next few weeks, ‘Blood of Lilith’ is full steam ahead promoting and playing songs from the Origins album. In lieu of their newly released music video “Pussy Power” from the album, the energy and excitement for an all-woman metal band is through the roof. When most think of rock, or metal, they instantly assume or think, “Guys”. Blood of Lilith is changing that narrative with every rift. From the signature look, sound, and grunge, one thing is evident; Blood of Lilith is bad 2 the bone, and theoretically stating, “Blood of Lilith, will Kick Your Ass!” The ladies of Blood of Lilith are exactly what us metal rock fans have been looking to emerge from the pack, and gender is an oxymoron with no validity.
To strengthen the premise of “Blood of Lilith”, the band organized the first of its kind all-woman metal festival that featured female metal bands Hygeia, Burning Silence, Hel Hath Fury, and Chemical Violet at the Roxy Theatre. The significance of the “Femme Fest” couldn’t be overstated; the all-out metal rock festival not only inspired, but will serve fruitful in breaking barriers in a male dominated genre. As “Blood of Lilith” were inspired by female rock band members such as Lita Ford and others, it’s their hope that females will feel empowered.

As far as “Blood of Lilith”, the band is busy promoting their debut album “Origins” to their faithful following of metal rock enthusiasts in love with good music. ‘Good Music’ isn’t the word, when it comes to Blood of Lilith, the music and delivery is simply sensational! With titles like ‘Snake Charmer’, ‘Dic Pic’, ‘Josie and Her Pussy Cats’, and the title track ‘Blood of Lilith’, its plenty of hard hitting, trash rock metal to keep one in an oasis of utopia for some time. The visuals to the single, “Pussy Power”, which debuted in late September is just a glimpse of how these rockers aren’t afraid to break the monogamy of what’s expected.
Nothing is Impossible with these Rockers! In just a few short years, Blood of Lilith has officially arrived, and has no plans on going nowhere, anytime soon. As Blood of Lilith continue to promote and market the Orgins album, we can only hope new material along with a tour will follow in 2024. In addition to playing throughout Colorado, the band is working on a Yuletide special that will be available before Christmas.
