Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of famed Rock n’ Roll legend Elvis Presley had died at the age of 54. Lisa Marie Presley’s death comes as a shock to the entertainment industry, just 20 days before her 55th birthday. The cause of death hasn’t been made official, but all indicators point to a cardiac arrest.
Lisa Marie’s mother, Priscilla Presley confirmed the news of her daughter’s death via a statement, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.” Priscilla expressed that the family asks for privacy as they deal with the loss. “Thank you for the love and prayers,” stated Priscilla.
On Thursday morning, Lisa Marie Presley was found unresponsive by her housekeeper who notified her ex-husband, musician Danny Keough who administered CPR. Paramedics were called and her pulse was restored. Lisa Marie was placed in Intensive Care in a local hospital and placed on life support. According to her housekeeper, Lisa Marie had complained of stomach pain earlier Thursday morning. However, Lisa Marie Presley was pronounced dead just a few hours after being admitted to the hospital.
Lisa Marie’s last appearance was just two days prior at the 80th Golden Globe Awards with her mother Priscilla on January 10, 2023. Lisa Marie, the joint heir to her fathers’ estate was quite a musician herself. With three studio albums which included, “To Whom It May Concern,” “Now What,” and the more recent “Storm & Grace.” Although she would never receive the acclaim of her father, it was quite evident that Lisa Marie was cut from the same cloth as her father, regarded as the “King of Rock n’ Roll.”
Lisa Marie was married four times; Michael Jackson 1994-1996, Danny Keough 1988-1994, Nicolas Cage 2002-2004 and music producer Michael Lockwood from 2006-2021. From the four marriages, Lisa Marie Presley had four children, two from her first marriage, daughter Riley Keough and son Benjamin Keough, and two twins, Harper Ann and Finley Lockwood with her latest husband, Michael Lockwood. Lisa Marie is preceded in death by her eldest son Benjamin who passed away in 2020, at the age of 27.
Lisa Marie Presley was able to celebrate the success of actor Austin Butler’s performance in Baz Luhrmann’s film, “Elvis”, in which he played her father at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, Tuesday. Austin Butler won the Golden Globe for actor for his performance in the film.
