What if I told you that there would be a way in the present where you could ride a bike and travel in the air for 40-minutes? You would probably call me crazy! Well, the realm of crazy is about to meet reality, powered by two 228 hp Kawasaki gas motors, the ideology was brought to fruition by Japanese start-up, AERWINS Technologies.
The bike extends to over 11-foot long and is reported to not only stay in the air, but reach speeds up to 60 miles per hour. Inspired by Star Wars hovercrafts, the XTURISMO is described as a “manifestation of the dream air mobility”. And rightfully so! The bike made its U.S. debut in September 2022, at the Detroit Auto Show to the amazement of attendees and fans.
The XTURISMO is already on sale in Japan and is making an impact. At current, the company only intends for users to use the flying bike for practical applications such as disaster relief and rescue missions; however, they do foresee recreational applications to come soon. The XTURISMO is the perfect vehicle to bring science fiction to real life.
With the demand for the flying bicycle to be high, it is expected that AERWINS will lower the price dramatically by offering a smaller electric model by the year 2025.
